In which states does Sierra Southwest do business?
Sierra currently provides natural gas services in Arizona, Nevada, and California.
In which Local Distribution Company (LDC) territories does SSW operate?
What are the requirements to switch from the LDC to Sierra for gas supply?
Sierra will gladly assist you with this step if needed.
Customers from Southwest Gas: Customers in the Southwest Gas territory are required to use a minimum of 180,000 Therms annually (18,000 Dth) to be able to switch suppliers. A transportation service agreement must also be in place with Southwest Gas before you will be allowed to procure your gas supply from a third-party supplier.
Customers from SoCal Gas: Customers from SoCal Gas are required to use a minimum of 250,000 Therms annually (25,000 MMBtu) to be able to switch suppliers. A transportation service agreement must also be in place with SoCal Gas before you will be allowed to procure your gas supply from a third-party supplier.
Customers from SDG&E: Customers from SDG&E are required to use a minimum of 249,600 Therms annually (24,960 MMBtu) to be able to switch suppliers. A transportation service agreement must also be in place with SDG&E before you will be allowed to procure your gas supply from a third-party supplier.
Customers from PG&E: Customers from PG&E are required to use a minimum of 120,000 Therms annually (12,000 MMBtu) to be able to switch suppliers. A transportation service agreement must also be in place with PG&E before you will be allowed to procure your gas supply from a third-party supplier. PG&E will require that you have electronic metering installed and that you remain on the self-procurement program for a minimum of one year.
Emergencies: Who do I call in case of an emergency?
Customers will continue to contact their LDC for any emergencies regarding transportation, equipment, or physical problems relating to the facility.

How do I enroll?
To find out more information about enrolling for customer choice, contact your local distribution company or you can contact us toll free at 1.877.224.6735.
We will gladly assist you in handling all the details during the transition and enrollment process.
Once I enroll, how soon will my service from my new supplier begin?
For Non-Core customers, your new service with Sierra will usually commence the month following the completion of the necessary agreements with your LDC and Sierra. For Core customers, your meter switch will take place on the next meter read date following enrollment with the LDC.
What is the minimum contract term?
Sierra offers flexible contract terms ranging from 3 to 24 months and longer.
Is there a fee if I cancel the contract early?
Customers who are on index based pricing incur no penalty when canceling with a 60 day notice to Sierra. Customers who have locked in a fixed price may incur fees as a result of early termination of the contract, but will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and current market condions.
What else should I consider in choosing a natural gas supplier, besides price?
Flexibility in pricing and volumes are critical in helping commercial and industrial customers effectively manage their natural gas costs. You should also look for a supplier who is responsive to your needs, offers the most reliable service, and can partner with you to help better manage your energy costs.
Will I receive the same level of customer service when I call SSW?
Absolutely! At Sierra we strive to provide the highest level of personalized customer service.
How can I analyze my usage?
Sierra will soon offer customers the ability to view their invoices and usage data, as well as analyze and manage their energy needs online via the Internet.
How do I convert MMBtu to therms?
1 Therm = 100,000 BTU
10 Therms = 1MMBTU ( Million BTU’s )
To convert from MMBTU to Therms, multiply the MMBTU figure by 10 to get Therms.
What about reliability?
Sierra holds firm transportation rights to ensure our customers receive the gas they need, when they need it.
Will I still receive two invoices?
Yes, you will continue to receive an invoice from your LDC for distribution services as well as a separate invoice from Sierra for commodity, transportation, and balancing services.
